Who is responsible

JobLab is operated by ISI Labs Ltd (England and Wales). ISI Labs Ltd is the data controller for personal data processed through joblab.me. Contact: support@joblab.me.

What we store

Your account (email, display name), your master CV, job descriptions you paste or import, billing-related identifiers (for example Stripe customer and subscription IDs), usage counters and credit balances, and the materials JobLab generates for you (tailored CVs, letters, prep notes, application history). Data lives in Google Firebase (Firestore / Auth) under your user ID. Payment card details are handled by Stripe — we do not store full card numbers.

Why we process it

We process this data to provide the product (contract), to bill and prevent fraud (legitimate interests / legal obligation for tax records), and to improve reliability of the service. Where we rely on consent (for example optional marketing email), you can withdraw it at any time.

Processors we use

• Google Firebase — authentication and database hosting
• Google Gemini API — generating tailored materials and match scores from text you provide
• Stripe — payments, subscriptions, and the customer billing portal
• Email delivery (for example Resend) — transactional mail such as job scout digests when you enable them

How AI is used

Your CV and job description text is sent to Google's Gemini API to generate tailored materials and match scores. It is used to answer your request — we do not sell your data or use it to train our own models. Google's processing is subject to their API and privacy terms.

What we never do

We never submit applications in your name, never contact employers on your behalf, and never invent employers, dates, or credentials in your materials.

Retention

Profile and application data stay until you delete them or close your account. Billing and payment records may be kept longer as required for accounting, tax, and dispute resolution (typically up to the periods required by UK law).

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you may request access, correction, deletion, export (portability), or restriction of processing, and you may object to certain processing. You can delete your account from Profile → Settings → Delete account & all data, which removes profile, CV, applications, alerts, and generated materials from our database. Email support@joblab.mefor other privacy requests. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
